Donald Trump is on trial right now in New York because he allegedly tried to deceive voters prior to the 2016 election. He allegedly violated campaign finance laws and falsified business records to conceal an illicit affair.
I believe Trump meddles in elections in order to seize and hold onto power. His alleged actions in this case were an attempt to keep damaging information from voters, thereby taking away our rights to cast informed votes.
Donald Trump apparently thinks he’s above the law. He’s not. He thinks he’s being persecuted, but he’s simply being held to account for his alleged actions, as every other citizen of this country would be.
A jury of everyday Americans indicted him, and a jury of his peers will decide his guilt or innocence. That’s our system. No one is above the law, even a former president.
