Community members are invited to join Healthy Acadia on Thursday, May 2 from 5-6 p.m. via Zoom for “The Art of Habit Stacking” with special guest Lizzie Nelson. The free online event is the latest installment in Healthy Acadia’s Monthly Mindfulness series.
When it comes to health, many of us tend to set ambitious goals and resolutions, only to find them increasingly challenging to maintain over time. This often leads to feelings of frustration and overwhelm. In “The Art of Habit Stacking,” Nelson will delve into her philosophy for ensuring that healthy habits stick. She advocates for a gradual approach, slowly layering healthy habits and behaviors on top of each other to create a new normal at a pace that is sustainable and achievable.
In this session, attendees will be guided through the science behind habit stacking, exploring how Nelson’s clients integrate this method into their everyday routines. The class will include a hands-on exercise aimed at helping participants kick start their journey of stacking their own healthy habits.
Pre-registration is required for this free event. To register and receive the Zoom link, go to bit.ly/mindful-5224.
Nelson is an Integrative Nutritionist and works 1:1 with clients on dietary and lifestyle habits. Instead of traditional “diets”, she is trained in the Eating for Health® model, which is a system that focuses on key macronutrients and micronutrients with an emphasis on eating S.O.U.L. foods (seasonal, organic, unrefined, and local). Lizzie supports her clients in learning how to better nourish their physical and mental health through five key pillars: nutrient-dense nutrition, sleep routines, daily movement, stress management, and community.
Nelson is an active member of the National Association of Nutrition Professionals and graduated from Bauman College with a degree in holistic nutrition. She also studied Mastering the Art and Science of Gastrointestinal Healing at Restorative Wellness Solutions. Before her work in nutrition, Nelson worked in the Bay Area tech scene supporting clients with marketing, communication, and PR.
