A building on Route 3 in Belmont was the site of an illegal marijuana growing operation, according to the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office executed a search warrant at 425 Augusta Road (Route 3) on Monday following an investigation by a sheriff’s office detective that identified the building as an illegal growing site.
In the search, the police reported finding more than 1,000 live plants. They did not make any arrests but said the investigation is ongoing.
