A Biddeford man was arrested this week after police say they found seven pounds of fentanyl in his apartment.
Almuntadhar Mohammed, 24, faces seven counts of aggravated drug trafficking stemming from two arrests this week, according to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Mohammed allegedly bought large quantities of fentanyl from out of state, repackaged it and then sold it throughout Cumberland and York counties.
On Wednesday, Mohammed went to the parking lot of a Saco business where he delivered it to an undercover agent, the MDEA said Friday morning. That followed several other undercover purchases during an investigation into Mohammed’s alleged fentanyl trafficking.
He was arrested and taken to the York County Jail in Alfred, where he was released on $7,500 bail.
A subsequent search of Mohammed’s Ray Street apartment in Biddeford turned up seven pounds of fentanyl, a loaded handgun and $2,500 in suspected drug proceeds, according to the MDEA.
The fentanyl was worth an estimated $300,000.
Police arrested Mohammed again on Thursday in Saco.
He is being held on $100,000 bail at the York County Jail.
