A man wanted in New York for homicide was arrested in Brewer on Monday.
Police became aware of the presence of Devon Joseph Holmes, 35, of Brooklyn during a drug investigation in Milford, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
After learning he had a warrant for murder out of New York, police began surveilling Holmes, the sheriff’s office said.
Eventually, police began tailing him from Holden into Brewer, where officers stopped and surrounded him, placing him under arrest.
Holmes was taken to the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor, where he awaits extradition to New York.
