UNION — The Union Sestercentennial committee invites all those follicularly gifted faces to “save it, don’t shave it”. Keep your beard until summer or start growing one to compete in the Beard Contest that is part of the 250th Anniversary celebration events.
The Beard Contest takes place on the Union Common following the Sestercentennial parade and the Union Masonic Lodge chicken barbecue on Saturday, July 20 at 1 p.m. Audience participation influences judging so bring your family and friends!
This Sestercentennial event is sponsored by Erica Harriman, CPA, Kathy’s Salon and Day Spa, Rock City Cycle, and Viking Lumber.
The categories include Longest & Fullest, Shortest & Fullest, Best Styled Mustache, Best Full Beard with Styled Mustache, Freestyle, Pompous Partial, and Best Overall. Participants will be competing for cash prizes.
The only rule is that all beards (and mustaches) must be real. Don’t miss this fun activity to participate in as a bearded person or to support your favorite beard.
