Concord Coach Lines will discontinue its bus service in Lewiston-Auburn at the end of June.
The company announced on Friday that it will no longer run buses between the twin cities and points north and south, including Augusta, Bangor, Portland and Boston.
The change affects buses running from Bates College, the Great Falls Transportation Center and the Park and Ride lot at Exit 75.
Concord Coach Lines did not immediately say why it’s discontinuing service in Lewiston-Auburn, but a representative at the corporate office said the company is planning to issue a press release on its website in the next day or so with more details.
Some twin-cities travelers may have another option after Concord bus service ends. The Maine Department of Transportation is planning to launch a pilot commuter bus service this summer between the Lewiston-Auburn and Portland.
