If you’re craving the Maine summer staple that many wait in long lines for, but aren’t too keen on hitting up Red’s Eats, Hannaford is making it easier to get.
The supermarket chain announced last week that it would be adding lobster rolls to its deli section. The lobster rolls will be “freshly prepared in-store each day,” and will contain five ounces of lobster meat, tossed with mayonnaise and breadcrumbs. The filling will sit on lettuce inside a brioche hot dog bun.
It will be located at various store’s “grab and go” section of the deli, alongside other prepared items like potato and macaroni salad and sandwich platters. The rolls will cost $9.99.
That’s quite the deal, considering that Red’s “famous” lobster roll is selling for $36 this year. The lobster rolls will be available in Hannaford deli sections until Sept. 2, which marks the unofficial end of summer.
