A Saco man was badly injured Saturday afternoon when his motorcycle crashed into a car that was turning onto Route 302 in Naples, according to police.
Daniel Faubert, 29, was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious injuries that could be life-threatening, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
At the time of the crash, Faubert was riding his 2007 Kawasaki EX250F westbound on Route 302, also known as Roosevelt Trail. The driver of a 2003 Volkswagen Passat then made a left turn off of Kansas Road onto Route 302, crossing into the path of Faubert and causing the crash, police said. Faubert was wearing a helmet.
The driver of the Passat, 18-year-old Austin Costa, was issued a traffic summons for failure to yield to the right-of-way, and police say his inattention contributed to the crash, according to the sheriff’s office.
Costa and a juvenile passenger in his car were not injured.
