Two new people were elected to the Hermon Town Council during Tuesday’s election.
Joshua Berry and Terry Hamm-Morris fill two open seats on the Town Council, while Stephanie Oiler and Anthony Reynolds were reelected to the Hermon School Committee.
Town Councilors Danielle Haggerty and Steven Thomas did not run for reelection. Thomas cannot run for reelection because he has served three consecutive terms. He must wait one year before running again, according to the town’s charter.
There were two seats available for the School Committee. Oiler was rerunning for her seat, while Jesse Keith did not run for reelection. Reynolds previously served on the committee in the 2000s.
Reynolds received 889 votes, while Oiler had 848 votes for the committee. Regina Leonard came in third with 490 votes, while Gregory Newell received the fewest votes.
Berry, the former town manager, was elected to the council with 1,043 votes. Hamm-Morris also earned a seat with 724 votes. Jason Forbers came in third with 558 votes.
Berry recently resigned as town manager because he has a young family and needed more flexibility. He ran for Town Council because he wanted to stay involved in the community.
