Great article on James Mardin, a 102-year old Maine veteran. I know him. He hired me to work for him at Merrill Transport in the traffic department. After he retired he took up golf and we played together many times, not particularly well.
I served in the Army some 20 years later than he and I read a lot of military history so I have a little idea of what he went through. I did not know about his experience as he never talked about it to me.
Great to see that he is doing well. I hope to be in as good a shape as him in 20 years. He truly is a “living artifact.”
