The city of Bangor will ban overnight parking in a portion of the downtown on Wednesday and possibly additional days.
The city is testing new street markings intended to be more durable than surface paint. The work will require the contractor to grind grooves in the pavement before applying paint.
Parking will be prohibited on both sides of one-way streets in the downtown triangle of Central Street, Hammond/State streets, and Harlow Street.
The temporary ban will be in effect from 6:30 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday and may continue the following night if needed. Parking will still be allowed during the day.
