BELFAST – On Saturday, June 22, let your shoes fly at a special Community Dance on the Armistice Footbridge on the waterfront in Belfast. This joyful evening of social connection and participatory dancing is presented by Belfast Flying Shoes, in partnership with the City of Belfast Parks & Recreation Department.
The intergenerational and chem-free evening begins at 6 p.m., when the All Comers Band warms up and chooses tunes. Local musicians, John Pranio & Toki Oshima, will lead the band, which is open to all ages, instruments and skill levels. Chrissy Fowler will lead easy-to-learn dances perfect for a summer evening overlooking the Passsagassawakeag River out to Penobscot Bay.
Free will donations support Belfast Flying Shoes and its nonprofit programs in the region. Walk across to the dance from the West Side of the bridge, after parking in spots and lots near the Rail Trail entrance and Front Street.
