A temporary overnight parking ban has been extended in downtown Bangor.
The city is testing new durable street markings. That work required the contractor to grind the pavement before applying the paint.
There won’t be any more pavement grinding, but the contractor still needs to apply paint to the street.
“This trial application is an attempt to improve safety by extending the life of pavement marking visibility,” the city said in a statement.
Parking will be prohibited between 6:30 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday on both sides of Central Street, Hammond and State streets, and Harlow Street in the downtown triangle.
That ban was intended to run just between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
