A spokesperson said that fewer than 45 people in Maine will lose their jobs.

The company said that most of the cuts come from people in the technology department.

The spokesperson said the layoffs will help position WEX for more long-term success.

WEX processes corporate payments across for fleet vehicles, travel and health care industries.
