Police are investigating a shooting in the Aroostook County town of Westmanland on Thursday evening that left one person seriously injured.
The shooting happened near 1055 Westmanland Road at about 7:25 p.m., Shannon Moss, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson, said in an email.
Westmanland is between Caribou and Fort Kent.
The victim of the shooting, who has not been identified, suffered life-threatening injuries and was at a local hospital as of Friday evening, Moss said.
There is no danger to the public, she said, adding that police plan to release more information about the incident.
