We’re watching the potential for thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and evening and a few of them may become severe.
A warm front will pass the state Sunday morning and with that, we will see periods of rain and a few downpours during the morning hours.
Mid to late morning it will likely dry out and should stay mostly cloudy. The amount of sunshine we see during this timeframe will determine how high the severe threat becomes for our area.
There is the potential for an isolated tornado Sunday, and the highest threat for our area will be in Western Maine, as well as New Hampshire and Vermont.
Damaging wind gusts will be a concern with the highest threat in Western Maine and off to our west.
We will also be tracking the potential for torrential downpours and hail with any of these storms as well.
The cold front passes the state overnight Sunday into early Monday morning. More showers and storms possible Monday but the severe threat is lower.
