A motorcyclist was critically injured Monday in a hit-and-run crash in Portland.
The 36-year-old was riding his motorcycle west on Brighton Avenue about 5:10 p.m. when “for an unknown reason” he laid the bike down, according to Brad Nadeau, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department.
A driver heading east on Brighton Avenue then turned left onto Noyes Street, hitting the motorcycle and fleeing, Nadeau said.
The motorcyclist, whose identity wasn’t released, was taken to Maine Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
