A woman and toddler died Monday afternoon in a collision in Livermore.
Jared Sampson, 23, of Norway was driving a red 2014 Mercedes west on Route 108, also known as Canton Road, near the intersection with Church Street, about 2:01 p.m. when he crossed the centerline and collided with a green 2021 Jeep Wrangler driven by 31-year-old Joshua Charette of Rangeley, according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office.
Charette and a child in his Jeep were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, while Sampson and two children traveling with him also were taken to the same hospital, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday morning.
Two passengers in the Mercedes, 20-year-old Harley Lausier and a 1-year-old girl sitting in a rear car seat, died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
