A man armed with a knife allegedly chased children through a Portland Shaw’s parking lot on Tuesday night.
Curtis Crawford, 54, was charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and criminal trespassing, according to Brad Nadeau, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department.
Crawford was allegedly armed with a knife and chasing children through the parking of the Auburn Avenue supermarket about 9:20 p.m.
Shaw’s staff sheltered the children in the store and locked the doors while waiting for officers to arrive, Nadeau said Wednesday.
Once they arrived, officers took Crawford into custody.
He was taken to the Cumberland County Jail.
