Someone opened fire on a Portland street, hitting a home while six children were inside.
The shooting happened just before midnight Tuesday on Grant Street, according to Brad Nadeau, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department.
Police found several bullet holes in the area, including in a glass front door and parked vehicle, Nadeau said Wednesday morning.
No one was injured in the shooting, but Nadeau said that police want residents to check to see whether their homes or vehicles were struck by gunfire. Police are also asking anyone in the area with security cameras to check their footage to see whether it could assist with the investigation.
“Six children were present in the home during this incident,” Chief Mark Dubois said in a statement. “We are fortunate no one was injured, muchless killed in this senseless attack.”
Anyone with information about the shooting can call the Portland Police Department at 207-874-8575 or text PPDME and a message to 847411.
