A controlled explosion has been carried out on a suspicious package in Nottingham, police have confirmed.
Another suspicious item is also set to be destroyed by Explosive Ordinance Disposal engineers.
The first package was discovered in Maxwell Court, Lenton, with the second in nearby Allington Avenue.
Roads in the area remain closed.
People are advised to stay away until further notice and a number of residents have been evacuated as a precaution.
A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: “This is an ongoing incident and we’re dealing with it as a major incident, alongside other emergency services, and will be providing further regular updates on our website and social media.
