Saco & Biddeford Savings continues to support local student’s higher education with scholarship donations.
SACO – In a heartfelt initiative to support the aspirations of young minds in our community, Saco & Biddeford Savings is proud to announce it has surpassed a significant milestone by donating over $100,000 in scholarships to more than 100 graduating seniors since 2018.
This substantial contribution underscores the organization’s steadfast commitment to fostering educational growth within the community and providing financial assistance to those with great potential but limited resources. This year, SBSI has given out $24,000 in scholarships to students from 16 schools.
The scholarship initiative, which began in 2018, was created with the vision of helping driven and deserving students achieve their dreams of higher education. As college tuition fees continue to rise, this financial aid has opened doors for many students who might otherwise be unable to afford post-secondary education.
“Our youth represent the bright future of our community, and investing in their education is the most powerful way we can ensure a legacy of innovation, leadership, and success,” said Mark Jones, president & CEO of SBSI. “We believe that every student, regardless of their economic background, deserves the chance to pursue their dreams without the burden of financial hardship.”
The scholarships have been awarded to selected graduating seniors who have not only excelled academically but have also shown remarkable commitment to their community through volunteer work, initiatives, or innovative projects.
“We are incredibly grateful to have made these scholarships possible,” added Jones. “Scholarships are more than just financial aid; they’re an investment in the promise and passion of our youth. We are setting the stage for these young individuals to build a better world for us all.”
Local high school seniors, educators, and families are invited to join SBSI in celebrating this year’s graduating seniors! Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our students and the fabric of our community.
