The thumb of a man who was violently killed in Washington DC was cut off and used to steal money from his mobile payment app, police say.
Fasil Teklemariam, 53, was discovered dead in his bedroom in April.
He had several cuts to his legs and a cut on his right hand, and his right thumb had been removed.
Two people – Audrey Denise Miller, 19, who investigators believe killed Mr Teklemariam, and Tiffany Taylor Gray, 22 – have been arrested.
One witness told police Mr Teklemariam was Gray’s “sugar daddy”.
Detectives also found evidence suggesting cleaning products had been used at the crime scene.
