The closing of Rebecca’s Gift Shop marks the end of an era in downtown Bangor shopping. It was “the place” for high-quality gifts and will be very much missed. It tells of Rick and Rebecca Vigue’s remarkable 40 years in business.
However I believe Rick’s career (and perhaps Rebecca’s) is closer to 50 years. He began, if I’m not mistaken, in Cheryl Wixon’s shop on Central Street in the 1970s, next door to my computer store. I was never in either store but they always seemed impeccably clean and perfectly organized. Congratulations on your well-earned retirements!
