A Limington man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing his 91-year-old grandfather in the neck on Tuesday.
Maine State Police were called to a home on July Street at about 9:10 a.m. for an alleged assault where they found Ronald McCarthy with injuries to his neck, Shannon Moss, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety said.
McCarthy was brought to Maine Medical Center with serious injuries, Moss said.
Police concluded through an investigation that McCarthy’s grandson, Daniel MacIsaac, 34, of Limington, had stabbed McCarthy and fled, Moss said.
Troopers found MacIsaac and arrested him without incident, Moss said. He was brought to York County Jail and charged with attempted murder and violating conditions of release.
Moss said the investigation is ongoing.
