Police are investigating a death in Cushing.
Mark Gagne, 41, has been charged with hindering apprehension and abuse of a corpse, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Police spent Friday and Saturday at a River Road home, where the body was found.
The body was taken to the Maine medical examiner’s office in Augusta, where an autopsy will be performed to identify the victim and determine the cause and manner of death, Moss said Monday.
Gagne was arrested Friday, and he was expected to appear in court later on Monday.
No additional information was immediately released, but Moss said more details will be made available when “it’s appropriate to do so.”
The death remains under investigation.
