Officials in the Franklin County town of Wilton postponed a Select Board meeting and closed the Town Office and Public Safety Building because of a flea infestation, the Sun Journal reported.
Town Manager Maria Greeley told the newspaper that Town Office staff came to work Monday and had fleas all over their ankles and legs.
The town employees used an over-the-counter flea fogger once unsuccessfully on Monday and repeated the process on Tuesday, according to the Sun Journal.
The office was expected to remain closed at least through Wednesday, which is when a pest-control company is scheduled to come. The office is normally closed on Wednesdays.
The Select Board meeting was rescheduled to next Tuesday, July 23, at 6 p.m. at the Town Office.
