A husband and wife were arrested Thursday morning at a homeless encampment in Bangor.
The special response team with the Bangor Police Department searched a camper at the homeless encampment, known as Tent City or Camp Hope, around 9:20 a.m. Thursday, Bangor police Sgt. Jason McAmbley said.
Police were looking for a person with an active warrant at the location and had information that there were people with weapons inside the camper.
Two people exited the camper without weapons and were arrested, McAmbley said. David Carver had an active warrant for eight felony counts, mostly related to drug trafficking, McAmbley said. Amy Carver also had a warrant.
They were arrested and removed from the encampment.
During the investigation, police identified a second camper they believe is connected and filed for an additional search warrant. Three people were detained, but not arrested, at the camper as of 11:40 a.m.
