A 2.8-magnitude that hit West Gardiner on Sunday afternoon was felt across central Maine and into the midcoast.
The earthquake was reported at 2:50 p.m., according to the United States Geological Survey.
By 3:45 p.m. more than 450 people reported to USGS that they felt the quake, some more than 20 miles away, as far south as Woolwich and as far north as Waterville.
