ROCKLAND — The Millay House Rockland Writer-in-Residence Reading Series continues as we welcome Natalie Goldberg, Zen teacher of writing as practice and best-selling author of “Writing Down the Bones” to the Farnsworth Art Museum Auditorium, 16 Museum Street, on Monday, Aug. 5 at noon.
Goldberg will share insights from her new book “Writing on Empty: A Guide to Finding Your Voice” (available at the Farnsworth Art Museum gift shop). An inspiring personal account of “the struggles of the creative mind,” Writing on Empty is a guidebook for our journey to fill the world with compassion, healing, and spiritual renewal.
The Millay House Rockland is honored to welcome Goldberg as part of its mission to foster creative revitalization through its inaugural Writer-in-Residency program at the renovated birthplace of Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Edna St. Vincent Millay.
Goldberg’s residency in Rockland renews the story of Millay’s physical birthplace as a living part of Maine’s and the nation’s creative community. Goldberg’s reading and book-signing event is sponsored in partnership with the Farnsworth Art Museum.
