University of Maine Cooperative Extension, Natural Resource and Conservation Service, Maine Natural Areas Program, and Maine Forest Service are hosting an educational workshop on invasive plants on Aug. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Nutting Hall at the University of Maine, 20 Grove Street Ext. in Orono.
Participants will learn about invasive plant biology, ecological impacts, identification, fundamental concepts of invasive plant management and related state and federal programs in classroom and field settings. The cost of the workshop is $10-20 sliding scale and includes lunch and a copy of the Maine Invasive Plants Field Guide.
