As a Certified Integrative Health Coach who owns her own travel and adventure company, reality star Heather Thomson knows how to practically live out of a suitcase.
It’s all about preparation.
I pack weeks ahead of my trip, not the night before. I think about the things I will definitely need, or know I will want to take with me and I start to stash them in my suitcase. For example, to support my deepest sleep when I am away from home, I always pack my Hapbee smart wearable device so I wake up rested for whatever is on the schedule.
Keep your itinerary in mind.
As you are planning activities for your vacation, make a checklist of items you may need to pull out of storage or to purchase. If going on an outdoor adventure, I’ll need my hiking boots or for an island getaway, new swimsuits, for sure! Pre-packing must-have items keeps you on point and helps prevent forgetful mistakes.
Don’t overpack!
Not only is it inconvenient, lugging all that extra stuff around on your journey —when you get home, you have a huge suitcase you now have to unpack, you know the one, that can sit for weeks after your return home!? The night before your trip, lock down your essentials and look critically at what you’ve packed, look over your itinerary and your items, edit out what you really don’t need.
