Flooding during heavy rainstorms has shut down roads in Westbrook.
The National Weather Service had issued a flash flood warning for southern Cumberland and northern York counties on Sunday.
As of the latest rainfall reports, at least 1 to 2 inches of rain has already fallen throughout that region, with the potential for 1 or 2 inches more to fall this morning.
According to the Westbrook Public Safety Communications Facebook page, storm drains have become flooded in the area. Westbrook Public Services is working to try to mitigate storm damage.
According to the Maine Harness Horsemen’s Association, a harness racing event in Topsham was canceled today because the paddocks had flooded.
