NORTHPORT — Bayside Arts presents “Ali Webb and Friends, Be Anything!” on Sunday, Aug. 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Bayside Community Hall, 813 Shore Road in Northport. The event is free.
Webb and her award-winning jazz trio show how music and life intersect, telling in their music the stories most fundamental to us as human beings. A singer, songwriter, and comedian, Webb celebrates the magic of the human spirit with original songs, jazz classics, and humorous vignettes.
With her trio, she has been delighting audiences for over 20 years with jazz as you’ve never heard it before. Cabaret Scenes calls her newest show ” … hysterical and moving … A very intimate show”, and New York Nightlife reviewer Bart Greenberg says, ” … she is an able and surprising songwriter with a strong and flexible voice.”
Webb’s humorous vignettes celebrate life through song, the ironies and self-effacing moments, the defeats and triumphs, the heartbreaks and love that build resolve. Through her original songs and well known jazz classics, she reveals the magic and the music of the human spirit, inspiring us to embrace the life we all share, a life where we can “Be Anything!”
