Eight people have been displaced after a Wednesday night at a Bangor apartment building.
The fire at 59 Kenduskeag Ave. broke out about 9:03 p.m. Crews arrived at the scene within minutes and had a majority of the fire “knocked down” within three minutes, according to Bangor Fire Assistant Chief Andrew Emery.
Firefighters evacuated six tenants from three units, while two other tenants from another unit weren’t there at the time of the fire, Emery said Friday morning.
Crews also rescued five cats, one of whom was treated for smoke inhalation, according to Emery.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Red Cross is assisting those people displaced by the fire.
The property is registered to LRG Holdings LLC, according to city records.
