Update New York may have felt the brunt of Hurricane Debby’s final blows, but the remnants of the powerful storm have left thousands of Mainers without power.
Central Maine Power reports that 6.950 customers remained without power as of 8 a.m. Saturday morning.
The storm, which made a second landfall in South Carolina before embarking on a northern path through New York and into Canada, left flooding and devastation along its path. However, Maine was spared a direct hit and avoided the worst of the storm’s aftermath.
Most of the outages are concentrated in Sagadahoc and Somerset counties. Versant only reported about 400 outages as of Saturday morning.
