BREWER — In 2009, Northern Light Cancer Care opened its doors at Lafayette Family Cancer Institute in Brewer and the dream of a bright, dedicated space for patients facing a cancer diagnosis became a reality.
Over the past 15 years, the community has rallied to support their friends and neighbors, at the Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center’s annual Champion the Cure Challenge, lifting survivors up and honoring those lost. The 2024 Walk/Cycle/Run event, on Saturday, Aug. 17, will bring the community together at Lafayette Family Cancer Institute once again to raise critical funds to support cancer treatment and research at Northern Light Cancer Care.
On Thursday, Aug. 15 at 6 pm, individuals who helped bring the Lafayette Family Cancer Institute dream to reality will be invited back to tour the building and reflect on 15 years of care, while looking to the future. During a short panel discussion, attendees will hear stories from community members and patients, and everyone will have an opportunity to connect with the leaders of Northern Light Cancer Care and Northern Light Health Foundation.
