The man who died in a fiery crash in Richmond earlier this month has been identified.
Mark J. Judd, 20, of Richmond was driving a Chevrolet Silverado on Route 201 just north of Thorofare Road about 6:01 a.m. on Aug. 3 when he veered to the right before overcorrecting and crossing the centerline into the path of a Ford F-250 driven by a 58-year-old Richmond man, according to the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver of the Ford F-250 tried to avoid the crash but was unable to do so. The crash caused the Ford F-250 to overturn, and Judd’s vehicle went into a ditch where it burst into flames, the sheriff’s office said.
Judd died at the scene. The driver of the Ford F-250 suffered minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
