Downtown Bangor’s new shop selling smoothies, cold-pressed juices and other healthy foods will open on Friday.
Mainely Juice at 34 Main St. will offer juices, smoothies, wellness shots, salads, acai bowls, matcha, flatbreads and wraps, according to founders Justin Dyer and Andrew Davis. Products from local vendors, such as bagels from Orono-based Bill’s Bagels and coffee from Farm House Coffee Roasters of Winterport, are also on the menu.
The business received a final inspection on Thursday ahead of its grand opening, which is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 16. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day, according to the business’ website.
Davis and Dyer developed the business after noticing health-focused juice and smoothie shops were growing in popularity in southern Maine and throughout New England, but the trend hadn’t yet reached Bangor.
The business partners also feel people are becoming more aware of their health, and demand for fresh, nutritious food made from locally sourced ingredients is growing across the state.
Dyer is the founder and owner of The Imperial Connection, a medical marijuana dispensary on Bangor Mall Boulevard, while Mainely Juice is Davis’ first business endeavor.
