SOUTH PORTLAND — Modivcare Inc. (the “Company” or “Modivcare”) (Nasdaq: MODV), a technology-enabled healthcare services company that provides a platform of integrated supportive care solutions focused on improving health outcomes, is pleased to announce Portland resident Ben Fasulo has earned recognition as Modivcare Maine’s Driver of the Month.
Fasulo is a non-emergency medical transportation driver responsible for transporting Maine Medicaid members between their home and medical appointments, when those individuals have transportation barriers that would otherwise impact their ability to access healthcare.
Since 2014, Modivcare has grown its NEMT provider network in Maine from 10 to more than 45 local providers across the state, including 26 minority-owned and four women-owned small business providers, collectively employing more than 400 local, compliant contracted drivers.
Modivcare providers exceed state requirements for service and consistently deliver efficient, safe and on-time transportation for Maine Medicaid members. Modivcare’s dedication to punctuality is reflected in the company’s impressive track record, with on-time performance averaging over 94 percent and consistently surpassing its contractual service obligations. Additionally, Modivcare has maintained exceptionally low levels of member complaints and vehicle unavailability, both of which are consistently below 0.1 percent.
Each month, Modivcare names a driver that has shown reliability, adaptability, overall attitude and client satisfaction. Fasulo is a team player who has gone above and beyond over the past year and is now training to be a trainer for other drivers. Fasulo is known for taking on extra trips and offering a helping hand whenever needed.
“Ben volunteers for Saturdays whenever needed, which is frequently,” Modivcare Maine’s Fleet Manager Susan Taylor said. “He regularly does random field inspections for us for all the time and is currently in a class to learn to be a trainer so that he can train our drivers on wheelchair transportation.”
Fasulo is proud of the distinction and says a lot of his dedication is owed to him loving his job.
“I enjoy driving itself but when it comes to driving for Modivcare, I love meeting these people every day that are just thankful I’m here to help,” Fasulo said. “Assisting people that have mobility issues gives me a feeling of accomplishment like I am really making a difference in their life.”
