Calling all volunteers for the event from Aug. 31 to Sept. 1
CARRABASSETT VALLEY — Sugarloaf Mountain will host the XTERRA Trail Run World Championship from Aug. 31 to Sept. 1. Volunteers are needed to serve as course marshals, help with timing, and assist runners at water stops and aid stations. Each volunteer gets an event T-shirt, plus free entry into the 8K run on Saturday, Aug. 31. Learn more at
Sugarloaf Mountain provides a spectacular backdrop for this weekend-long trail running festival that will see top elite and amateur runners vie for $10,000 in prize money, as well as crowns in the full- and half-marathon distances.
The running festival will include live music, great food, kids’ races, and family entertainment all weekend long. The event, which debuted in Maine last year, drew in more than 1,000 runners and spectators from more than 30 countries. Learn more here.
