The death of a person who was discovered at a Waterville residence on Sunday morning has been ruled a homicide.
The death of the man who was discovered at the Cool Street home at around 8:23 a.m. Sunday was considered suspicious at the time, according to Maine State Police Lt. Aaron Turcotte.
As of Monday afternoon, the death has been ruled a homicide, according to Turcotte. The person’s identity is not being released at this time. An autopsy conducted by the state medical examiner’s office determined that the man had died of “sharp force injuries.”
Thomas Lowrie, 41, of Waterville was arrested on Sunday and charged with murder. Lowrie made his initial court appearance at the Capital Judicial Center in Augusta at 1 p.m. Monday.
