A man incarcerated at the Maine State Prison in Warren died on Friday morning, according to the Maine Department of Corrections.
Stephen Lee, 50, formerly of Waterville, died at 11:28 a.m. on Friday, and his death was attended by medical personnel, Maine DOC officials said.
The Maine attorney general’s office and state medical examiner have been notified of the death, as is protocol when an inmate dies.
Lee was serving a 40 year sentence, which started in 1997, for murder, along with concurrent sentences for robbery and burglary. Lee would have been eligible for release in June 2032.
