BUCKSPORT — The Bucksport Community Resilience Committee is hosting a Community Resilience Workshop on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 9-11 a.m. at the Bucksport Municipal Building.
The Committee invites the community to share ideas on ways to improve community resilience, improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Please join the Bucksport Community Resilience Committee as we identify risks to the community, resources to mitigate and adjust to climate change, support the community during emergencies, and ways to protect our natural resources and community infrastructure.
This workshop is one step in helping the Town of Bucksport enroll in Maine’s Community Resilience Partnership program. Once Bucksport is enrolled, the town will become eligible for Community Action Grant funding from the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future. Enrollment will qualify Bucksport for other grants, too.
Members of the Bucksport Community Resilience Committee, appointed by the town council are Sherry Billings, Ralph Chapman, Emily Fitzgerald, Jon Goss, Tracey Hair, Benjamin Pluard, Rich Rotella, Stephen St. Peter Jr., and Don White.
All are welcome. We encourage the youth in the community to attend and share their thoughts and ideas about climate resilience. Refreshments will be served. For more information, contact:
