A New York man allegedly sex trafficked two people in Maine.
Richard Qiu, 58, of Brooklyn has been charged with two counts of sex trafficking, forced labor and criminal forfeiture of property, according to the Lewiston Police Department.
Qiu allegedly ran an illicit massage parlor on Sabattus Street, which police became aware of in March.
When police eventually executed two search warrants at the property, officers found two human trafficking victims, video recording equipment, condoms and more than $12,000 in suspected sex trafficking proceeds, Lewiston police said.
The Androscoggin County grand jury indicted Qiu in July, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
U.S. marshals arrested Qiu in Boston on Sept. 6.
His bail has been set at $100,000.
