Guptill will continue managing the Auburn location, while also overseeing two Lewiston stores
VIP Tires & Service — northern New England’s leader in all things tires and service — announced that Auburn Store Manager Bob Guptill has been promoted to market manager at VIP. Effective immediately, Guptill will continue to manage the Auburn location, while also overseeing two Lewiston stores on Lisbon Street and Sabattus Street.
A VIP employee since May 2020, Guptill previously served as manager in training and store manager in Auburn, becoming an Automotive Service Excellence Master Technician and securing 14 total ASE certifications to better serve VIP’s customers. He was trained at VIP locations in Scarborough and Yarmouth, climbing the career ladder at the company to become one of VIP’s market managers in Maine. Guptill is a proud Mainer, hailing from South Paris and graduating from Poland Regional High School before attending the University of Northwestern Ohio. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, buying and selling cars, and racing.
VIP is northern New England’s largest privately held automotive service provider and tire dealer. Based in Auburn, the company operates 70 locations in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. Each store is staffed with ASE and Tire Industry Association Certified Automotive Professionals seven days a week, earning automotive customers of life.
“VIP Tires & Service is what it is — the industry standard in customer service — because of high-achieving employees like Bob Guptill,” said Tim Winkeler, president and CEO of VIP. “Over the years, Bob has become a true leader at VIP, not only managing our Auburn store, but also taking the time to develop professionally as an ASE Master Technician. He obtains ASE certifications with the same passion as he approaches management and customer service, and we could not be prouder to promote Bob to the position of market manager. Our team looks forward to seeing him lead and grow as a VIP employee for many more years to come.”
