An eight-year-old boy has died after he fell from the window of a house in Nottingham, police have said.
Officers were called to Costock Avenue in the district of Sherwood by East Midlands Ambulance Service at around 7.15pm on Wednesday, the Nottinghamshire force said.
The boy was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in the city but could not be saved.
Officers remain at the house investigating the circumstances of the fall.
Chief Inspector Jon Scurr said the boy’s death was “a tragic and devastating loss of life”.
“Our thoughts are with the boy’s family and loved ones,” he said.
“I would like to thank those that have already reported information to us, and would urge anyone who hasn’t yet done so, to please make contact as soon as possible.
