A convicted felon has been accused of trafficking cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine across two Maine counties.
Joey St. Hilaire, 52, of Brownfield was charged with aggravated drug trafficking and possession of firearms by a prohibited person, according to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
The investigation into St. Hilaire originally centered around illegal gun possession, but expanded when police learned of his alleged drug trafficking.
St. Hilaire was detained without incident in the driveway of his Fulcher Lane home about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, the drug enforcement agency said Thursday.
During a search of his home, police found a 9 mm handgun; a rifle; more than 500 bullets; 3.5 pounds of cocaine, fentanyl and meth; and more than $25,000 in suspected drug proceeds, according to the agency.
The drugs are worth an estimated $90,000.
St. Hilaire was taken to the Oxford County Jail in South Paris, where his bail was set at $75,000.
