School officials are addressing an incident of verbal harassment against an Orono High School boys soccer player at Thursday afternoon’s game at Central High School in Corinth.
Fans and players from Central High were involved in the harassment, according to a social media post by a family member of the player.
Central High School Athletic Director Jared Foster said Friday that he and Orono High Athletic Director Mike Archer are “working together on the situation.”
Orono High soccer coach David Hamel said he couldn’t comment on the incident but did say, “Orono boys soccer is moving forward and preparing for Foxcroft Academy [Friday] and George Stevens Academy on Tuesday.”
Orono won the game 3-1.
